Motherboard: AsRock Taichi X399
RAM: 4 x 8GB G.SKILL Flare X Black Ryzen (3200Mhz, CL14, XMP Profile)
OS: Ubuntu 17.04 (Huge pages enabled)
Cooling: Air (Noctua’s NH U14S TR4-SP3 dual fan)

Observations

  • Best yields with CPU affinity numbered from 0 to 11, using “0, 2, 4, …” settings yields lower hashrates (~800H/s)
  • Setting “no_prefetch: true” yields slightly lower hashrates (~1-2H/s per core, so ~20H/s lower overall), but system’s UI and some apps (eg. Firefox) are less stuttery
  • CPU fans are at about the same speed levels as in complete idle
  • Overall system load with mining allows for normal usage on a daily basis (I’ve been mining “in the background” for about a month now)
